There’s no sign of past dentwork, and no sign of other resolders. It has a very clean history, and the tone holes all look great. This horn had a little dent taken out of the bell lip, but that’s it for past repairs. It has domed metal resonators, and the pads have a nice firm pop to them. You’re not going to find a better playing VI alto for this kind of money. Steve’s work is very good, especially on an alto like this, so even a super-picky player will be happy with the way that this horn feels under the fingers. This is a relacquered Mark VI alto SN114xxx (matching neck) that has just had a fresh overhaul by Steve Collins of Collins Hornworks.
